Bali is really a wonderful island in the world. It has all the tourists need for their holiday. It is not enough to explore Bali for only a day. The tourists will always want to come back again. There are a lot of places to visit during in Bali. The places vary from a tranquil place like Ubud to a crowd place like Legian.
Legian is one of tourists destination located on the north of Kuta and the south of Seminyak. It takes about 20-30 minutes to go to Legian from Ngurah Rai International Airport. Legian lies from Legian Beach Hotel to Double Six Road. The area of Legian is near with beach that most hotels in Legian have sea view.
Legian is a home of a lot of tourists and facilities. The road is full of tourists’ crowd. There are shops, bars, restaurants and hotels along Legian street. Usually the area on the west of Legian is dedicated for budget tourists and backpacker since it provides accommodation with reasonable price. The more prestigious accommodation is provided on the western of Legian. Thus, there are hotels of mid-range to 5 star hotels with their own beach access and usually hotel’s area is separated with public area. Other facilities like restaurants and bars open all day with their excellent menu and good service.
After Bali bombing in October 2002, the number of tourists are decreased significantly, especially foreign tourists. Yet, after the condition is better, Bali is still on the first list to visit. The monument to memorize the victims of Bali bombing 2002 in Legian, known as Ground Zero, now becomes an interesting place to visit by tourists and memorize their friend or perhaps their family member that become the victim. Every year, on October usually there is a mass prayer held on Ground Zero to memorize Bali Bombing. There are usually a lot of tourists participate in the event.
