Another interesting destination near Bali is Nusa Lembongan. The island is one of the three sister islands of Bali. The other two islands is Nusa Penida and Nusa Ceningan. Among those three islands, the largest is Nusa Penida while Nusa Ceningan is the smaller one. The island is on the southeast coast of Bali. Both the island of Nusa Penida and Nusa Lembongan is popular with its diving sites.
The island can be reached by boat from Sanur or Benoa Harbor. It takes only about an hour to get there. There are also luxury yacht companies that sail from Benoa Harbor to the island including Bali Hai, Quicksilver and SailSensations. The beach on this island has known for its clear water that is best for snorkeling and diving as well as the nice coral sand beach.
There are two main beaches in this island. Jungut Batu is the bigger and is more visited since it is surrounded by hotels and some eateries. The other is Mushroom Bay that is more calm, it is a nice place for swimming. The beach is more up market.
The people come to this island are usually those who are in search for the best place for diving. Yet, those who are not divers are also welcome to his island and enjoy what the island has to offer. The local people of this island is Hindu people that still maintain their tradition for a long time.
