Consider as the fifth largest city in Indonesia, Semarang has unique culture. It becomes the capital city of Central Java, yet the people living there are not merely Javanese people. There are numerous Chinese people living there. Unlike Yogyakarta, in this city we will see the blend of Javanese and Chinese culture. It becomes the capital city of Central Java. The building built in Dutch time that is still exist until nowadays can be witnessed when people visit Gereja Blenduk. The eldest Christian church in Java built in 1753 by Dutch community. The huge dome and the baroque organ inside the building indicate the architecture of 18th century architecture. Some of Dutch time building are also located nearby, including the main railway station named Stasiun Tawang. On downtown, the old building with its Dutch architecture can be witnessed when people see Lawang Sewu - Thousand Doors -. Still on downtown.
