Bali is popular with its culture, art and the natural beauty. Ubud is a village located on the center of Bali that will impress all the visitors. It belongs Gianyar Regency, about 33 km from Kuta and 10 km from Denpasar. It has all aspects that attracts people to come. Ubud is a house of art, museums, temples and the natural beauty like rice terraces, Monkey Forest Park, Ayung river and the Sayan village.
It is easy for the tourists to go to Ubud from Kuta, Legian, Denpasar, Seminyak, Sanur and from the airport. It takes about 60 minutes from the airport by car and about 40 minutes from Denpasar. We may go there by public transportation, such as taxi or bemo. Otherwise, the tourists may contact the travel agency.
Since it is popular as the center of culture and art, the tourists will find the line of galleries and museums. There are some of the museums and gallery is Museum Rudana or Rudana Art Museum, Museum Puri Lukisan (Museum of Fine Arts), Seniwati Gallery of Art by Women, Neka museum and Komaneka Gallery.
As other places in Bali, Ubud is also filled with mysticism. Balinese people still hold their culture. Everyday, the tourists may see Balinese people’s activity in giving the offering. Sometimes, if the tourists are lucky enough, they will be able to witness religious ceremony held by Hindu people in the temple. Visiting temples and the activity on it is other activity we can do in Ubud. Moreover, if there is a ceremony on it. Usually, some of religious prayer, festivals and events are held on the temple. There are a lot of temples that might be visited by tourists in Ubud.
Instead of watching people in bikinis, tourists destination in Ubud usually has its history. One of tourists destinations in Ubud are Puri Saren Palace, where the tourists may see the palace of the last king of Ubud, Tjokorda Gede Agung Sukawati and watch dance performance that is usually held on its courtyard. The sacred Monkey Forest maybe the first place we may visit. It is inhabited by more than 200 monkeys and a temple. Other tourists destinations are Goa Gajah( Elephant Cave) is a monastery cave for the Hindu and Buddhist monks. There are some statues on the front side of the cave. Gunung Kawi (Poet Mountain) the complex of King Anak Wungsu and his wives burial. Tirta Empul, is a holiest temple in Bali surrounded by hot springs. Balinese people come here to take a bath and to purify themselves.

The one who have big budget may choose one of the luxurious places among Barong Resort, Komaneka Resort, Kori Ubud, Alila Ubud, Kamandalu Resort, Nandini Bali Jungle Resort, Bumi Ayu Villa, Villa Vajra, The Viceroy Bali, Elite Havens, Bale Bali, Bukit Naga, Villa Alamanda, Uma Ubud, Waka Namya, Waka Di Ume and many more. The tourists are also easy to look for restaurants and Balinese “warung” for their breakfast, lunch and dinner. The menu varies from traditional to western menu, all are delicious.
